Activist and vice presidential aspirant Walden Bello appealed on Tuesday to the media to give a fair coverage for political aspirants ahead of Eleksyon 2022.

“Huminihingi lang kami sa (We are just asking the) media ng fair and comprehensive coverage and we feel that if the media gives us that we can make our case in a very strong faction and we can convince large numbers of the people to vote for us instead of the people that are oppressing them,” he said during the Laban ng Masa press conference.

“Give us fair and comprehensive coverage so that our people will be able to appreciate yung key issues of our country that are at stake dito sa halalan na ito (in next year’s polls),” he added.

Both Bello and his running mate presidential aspirant and labor leader Leodegario “Ka Leody” de Guzman are running under Laban ng Masa, a broader coalition of progressive groups.

Among their platforms were redistribution of land for farmers and pushed for the absolute ban on all forms of contractualization or endo through “complete prohibition on trilateral arrangements.”

Bello, chairperson of socialist Laban ng Masa, filed his certificate of candidacy (COC) to the Commission on Elections (Comelec) office in Manila through a representative.

Bello replaced Partido Lakas ng Masa vice presidential candidate Raquel Castillo, who filed her COC on October 8.
