They say your trip to Siargao would be incomplete if you cannot set a foot at the famous and most visited tourist spot in the island — the Cloud 9 Boardwalk and Tower, also known as the Surfing Capital of the Philippines.
The picturesque Cloud 9 Boardwalk and Tower all started when significant and visionary individuals expressed their love for surfing and water sports engagements. For 25 years now, Cloud 9 has already hosted several International and National Surfing Competitions that had caused its popularity around the world. Cloud 9 also received consecutive recognitions from world-renowed groups for topping the list of best island and most visited places in the country.
However, the sight of this famous spot was nowhere to be seen when typhoon Odette struck our island last December 2021. Its devastation saddened the many.
But as the song goes like, “There’s a rainbow always after the rain”, the famous Cloud 9 Boardwalk and Tower has now fought its way to recovery. The LGU sees the need to expedite the rehabilitation of the area as this has been the locality’s landmark of opportunities, highlighting mainly opportunities for employment, economy, tourism, and sustainable development.
Almost 90% of the works for its rehabilitation has already accomplished, and we cannot wait to open it back to everyone in full-faced very soon.
