A Chinese national who was supposed to receive food ordered on Saturday will face raps after suspected shabu was allegedly found among the delivered items.
The food from a fast-food outlet was delivered Saturday night to a closed Philippine offshore gaming operator (POGO) hub on Williams Street in Pasay City, according to a report by Nico Waje on Unang Balita on Monday.
The said POGO hub was recently raided and found to have an alleged torture chamber in its premises
Two sachets of suspected shabu, estimated to be worth P13,000, were allegedly found among the food delivered.
“Ininspeksiyon itong isang order ng pagkain and it turned out na mayroon palang nakapalaman dito na dalawang sachet ng shabu at ‘yung mga foil… nakapaloob siya doon sa pagkain,” Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) Executive Director Undersecretary Gilbert Cruz said.
(The food order was inspected and it turned out that there were two sachets of shabu. The foil was placed among the food.)
“Definitely, bumili muna ‘yan tapos nilagyan nila ng palaman. Tinago nila ‘yung akala nila lulusot na dahil hindi papansinin dahil akala nila pagkain ano,” he added.
(Definitely, someone bought the food then inserted the items. They hid the [drugs] thinking that these would not be noticed because it looks like only food was delivered.)
Authorities raided the said POGO hub in Pasay City on October 27 following reports of illegal activities, including sex trafficking, love and crypto scams.
They then discovered an alleged torture chamber inside the said POGO hub.
Some Chinese nationals are held in the said POGO hub while investigation is ongoing into alleged human trafficking and torture complaints.
Authorities are now looking for the delivery rider who brought the food.
Meanwhile, the Chinese national who was named as recipient of the food delivery was made to undergo a drug test.
He will face charges related to illegal drugs, aside from charges of lack of permit to work in the country.
On Friday, authorities guarding the said POGO hub prevented the delivery of alcohol, cigarettes, and tobacco. -KG, GMA Integrated News
