The southwest monsoon will bring cloudy skies with rainshowers over Luzon and Western Visayas, PAGASA said Monday afternoon.

In its 24-hour forecast, the weather agency said the cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms will prevail over Metro Manila, Western Visayas, Mindoro Provinces, Palawan, Cavite, Bataan, and Zambales.

PAGASA advised affected residents to prepare for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to, at times, heavy rains.

The rest of the country, meanwhile, will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to the southwest monsoon and localized thunderstorms.

Flash floods or landslides are also possible due to severe thunderstorms.

PAGASA also sighted an active tropical cyclone outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility as of 3 p.m. It was located 2,265 kilometers east of Visayas with maximum sustained winds of 55 km per hour and gustiness up to 70 kph. It is moving west northwest at 20 kph.

Further, PAGASA said the northern and western sections of Luzon will experience moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough coastal water conditions.
