Siargao Island Experience @Jayvee – Hi Po, it’s my pleasure to share with you my thoughts and personal experiences with the awesomeness of Siargao island and the sorrounding islets.
Early 2000, is the first time I heard Siargao, at first I thought it was just one or same with Surigao, but my friend who moved from Davao City to General Luna in Siargao told me so much beautiful stories about this unknown island for me on those times.
Out of curiousity, I want to explore and experience at first hand those heard stories. With the guide of my friend, I packed my things off and head to the north eastern part of small island in Mindanao.
As I arrived on the Island, I was welcomed by grateful and kind islanders. They are so overwhelming.
As I wander the island, have seen wide range of villas and other accomodations that can suits anyones budget and preferred.
These are my top 3 places of interest.
1. The Cloud 9
Aside from the breath taking waves that draws alot of surfers, the long wooden boardwalk have a stunning view during sunrise.
2. Magpupongko Rock Pool
Nature at its best. Pools are carved from great waves by time. None of man made pools can beat how nature form it.
3. Sugba Lagoon
The deep calm crystal turquoise waters of Sugba Lagoon is magneficient. You can leap your dive at the diving board even your not a professional diver.
Foods. Fresh catch from the sea, as everyone of us wanted to serve at the top of our tables. Crabs, Tunas, Shrimps, Seaweeds, Seashells and more. It will be serve fresh and you will eat like royals.
Surely, Tourism in Siargao is long way to go. Theres more to explore, theres more the island can offer.
