The National Capital Region and 10 other areas will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms on Monday due to the shear line, PAGASA said in its early morning forecast.
The other areas affected by the shear line are Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, Caraga, Aurora, Aklan, Capiz, Davao de Oro, and Davao Oriental.
The shear line is the line between the Northeast Monsoon and winds from the Pacific Ocean, according to PAGASA weather specialist Benison Estareja during the 4 a.m. public weather forecast.
Flash floods or landslides may occur during times of moderate to heavy rains.
The Northeast Monsoon (Amihan) meanwhile is affecting the rest of Luzon and will bring cloudy skies with rains over Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, and the rest of Central Luzon. Residents were warned of possible flash floods or landslides during times of moderate to heavy rains.
The Ilocos Region will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the monsoon.
Meanwhile, the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to the shear line and localized thunderstorms. Flash floods or landslides may result during severe thunderstorms.
