The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Saturday said 111 new COVID-19 cases were reported among its personnel, driving up the total tally of coronavirus infections to 40,070.
Of this number, 1,959 are active, data from the PNP Health Service showed.
Meanwhile, 175 have recovered, making the total recoveries so far reach 37,992.
The death toll on the other hand is now 119 after one fatality was reported.
The Department of Health (DOH) on Friday reported 15,566 new COVID-19 infections, bringing the nationwide tally to 2,565,487.
According to the DOH, the country’s active cases decreased to 130,268, the lowest since August 23.
Meanwhile, total recoveries climbed to 2,396,726 with 23,483 new ones while 199 more fatalities brought the death toll to 38,493. —KG, GMA News
