The team of Clinton Bautista, Joyme Sequita, Michael Del Prado, and Umajesty Williams clinched a gold medal for the Philippines after winning the men’s 4x400m relay event in the athletics competitions of the 32nd Southeast Asian Games on Friday.
The relay team clocked in at 3:07.22 to barely edge out Thailand at 3:07.23 for the gold. Malaysia came in third with a time of 3:08.82 for the bronze medal.
Williams had previously won the silver medal in the men’s 400m a few days before.
It was the 31st gold medal for the Philippines in this edition of the games, and the fourth of the day after Agatha Wong in wushu, the women’s recognized poomsae team of Jocel Lyn Ninobla, Aidaine Laxa and Nicole Labayne of taekwondo, and their fellow taekwondo jin Patrick King Perez.
