“We are very thankful. As we have said to you, we promised that this was coming this week. Ito, dumating na nga ‘yung 190K na component number 2,” he said.

“We are apologizing for the delay of this component 2 considering we have some supply issues. As promised by the Russian Direct Investment Fund, this will be delivered today. And we are very thankful that they fulfilled the promise,” he added.

Galvez expressed hope that there will be no more delays in the deliveries.

Meanwhile, he said the vaccines will be delivered to several areas in the National Capital Region and other provinces.

“Papunta ito sa lahat ng mga areas na nabigyan natin, katulad ng Bohol… ‘yung sa area ng Isabela, meron din, and then also dito sa Bacoor, and dito sa Metro Manila, and some areas in Region III and Region IV-A,” he said.

On Sunday, the Philippines is expected to receive 3 million doses of the Sinovac vaccine procured by the government and more than 2 million doses of the Pfizer vaccine from the COVAX facility.
