Over 50 areas in Quezon City have been placed under special concern lockdown due to COVID-19 cases, according to James Agustin’s report on Unang Balita on Friday.
One of them, a park of Pook Palaris in Barangay UP Campus, was placed under special concern lockdown starting 6 p.m. Thursday due to eight confirmed COVID-19 cases.
The eight patients have already been moved to a quarantine facility, the report said.
Officials said prior notice was given to the residents of the affected community before the enforcement of the lockdown.
“Bawal po talaga lumabas yung mga naka-lockdown sa area, yun ang advice sa amin. So yung transactions nila kami ang naga-assist,” said Christopher Miguel Guno, a member of the Barangay Security Group.
The lockdown will last for 14 days during which residents will undergo swab test and receive food packs and essential kits from the local government. —KBK, GMA News
