A low pressure area east of Northern Samar and the Intertropical Convergence Zone will cause scattered rain showers over Visayas, the Bicol Region, Caraga, and four other areas on Sunday, PAGASA said in its weather forecast.
The other areas affected are Northern Mindanao, Davao Region, SOCCSKSARGEN, and Quezon.
These areas will have cloudy skies, scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the LPA and ITCZ, with the possibility of flash floods or landslides due to severe thunderstorms.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country meanwhile will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to ITCZ and localized thunderstorms. Flash floods or landslides may occur due to severe thunderstorms.
Coastal waters will be slight to moderate throughout the country.
At 3 a.m., the LPA was located at 125 km east of Catarman, Northern Samar. It is embedded in the ITCZ currently affecting Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.
