The Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) is affecting Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao on Sunday and will bring scattered rains over five areas, PAGASA said in its forecast.

These areas are Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, Caraga, and Palawan. PAGASA said these areas will have cloudy skies and thunderstorms, with the possibility of flash floods or landslides due to moderate to heavy rains.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to the ITCZ and localized thunderstorms. Flash floods or landslides may occur during severe thunderstorms.

Coastal waters will be slight to moderate throughout the country.

Sunrise was at 5:45 a.m. and sunset will be at 5:49 p.m.

Meanwhile, PAGASA is also monitoring a tropical cyclone outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).

At 3 a.m. Sunday, Typhoon Mindulle was located at 1,640 km east of Extreme Northern Luzon.

Mindulle has maximum sustained winds of 165 km/h with gustiness of up to 205 km/h.

The typhoon is moving northwestward at 10 km/h.

PAGASA is expecting Mindulle to enter PAR on Tuesday or Wednesday.

Once it is inside PAR, the typhoon will be called Lannie. —KG, GMA News
