iNFOCUS: Mayor JR Coro gave recognition to PNP, Maritime Group and Del Carmen Bantay Dagat members for the immediate action of the illegal fishing incident in Del Carmen, Siargao Island | January 16, 2023
The Maritime Law Enforcement Team (MLET) of the Municipality of Dapa, Surigao Del Norte under the supervision of PCPT ALVIN JOHN MADRID, Station Chief of Surigao Del Norte Maritime Police Station (SDN-MARPSTA), RMU 13, together with the PNP-Del Carmen personnel and Del Carmen Bantay Dagat Members, responded to the incident report last January 09, 2023 of the 4 motorized bancas that are in actual performance of Dynamite fishing within the municipal waters of Del Carmen. The team onboard right away to another motorized banca, proceed to the area, directly cornered the illegal fishers and dumped their illegally caught fish.
Hence, LGU-Del Carmen through Mayor JR Coro, appreciates the efforts and handed over a certificate of recognition for a job well done in protecting the Del Carmen municipal waters and even the whole Siargao Island!
