IN PHOTOS: Different Activities of the Municipal Agriculture Office in the past weeks
• LIVESTOCK
Ready-to-Lay chickens from the Department of Agriculture – Caraga Regional Office were distributed among farmers in different barangays in the municipality. The distribution of chickens was facilitated by Livestock Coordinators Mrs. Emelyn Digman and Mr. Segundino Cagata. First batch was 350 heads female chickens with 27 sacks of layer feeds equally divided among recipient farmers on April 29, 2022.
There are 150 heads male chickens expected to be delivered around May 30 to June 3, 2022, also to be distributed among local farmers.
• HIGH-VALUE CROPS:
Also donated by the Department of Agriculture – CARAGA Regional Office were Banana Tissues (Lakatan and Cardava) and 35 sacks of complete fertilizer for each variety; and 40 bags of 18kg corn, with per bag of corn supplemented with 3 sacks of complete fertilizer and 3 sack of organic fertilizer. The municipality received 5,000 tissues of Lakatan and 1,000 tissues of Cardava. Banana tissues were distributed among farmers in barangays Cabitoonan, Corazon, Tawin-Tawin, Consuelo, Sta. Cruz, Sta. Fe, Malinao, and Poblacion Barangays 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 on April 25, 2022; facilitated by High-Value Crops Development Program (HVCDP) Coordinator Mrs. Analiza Espadero. Recipient farmers were also provided with complete fertilizers for the banana tissues they received.
For the distribution of Corn Seeds, the Municipal Agriculture Office has just started dispensing yesterday, May 24, 2022 at Brgy. Libertad; facilitated by Ms. Gregoria Enhaynes. The following barangays shall likewise be distributed: Malinao, Consuelo, Magsaysay, Corazon, Cabitoonan, Libertad, La Januza, and Suyangan.
Announcement: Pechay seedlings ready for transplant are also available at the Municipal Nursery.
