A presidential-vice presidential team-up between Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte and Senator Bong Go in Eleksyon 2022 is not likely, an official of Sara’s Hugpong ng Pagbabago said on Monday.
According to Sara Aguinaldo’s report on “Saksi”, HNP spokesman Anthony Del Rosario added that the tandem did not make sense politically.
“Everybody knows Mayor Sara and Sen. Bong Go come from the same not only from the same region but actually from the same city even, from Davao City,” Del Rosario said.
“Alam mo naman ho pagdating po ng national campaign kamukha ng presidential campaign, (When it comes to national campaign like a presidential campaign), you need a vice president that can also help you get more supporters,” he added.
Go earlier declined PDP-Laban’s endorsement for him to join the presidential race in 2022, wherein President Rodrigo Duterte, his long-time ally, will be his running mate.
No talks between Bongbong, Sara on elections
Del Rosario said there have been no talks about the Sara-Bongbong Marcos tandem within their party.
Senator Imee Marcos said her brother had been also making rounds for his possible candidacy in Eleksyon 2022. She said Bongbong was in talks with dissenting factions of PDP-Laban. –Consuelo Marquez/NB, GMA News
