The southwest monsoon (habagat) will bring cloudy skies and rain over parts of Luzon and the Visayas on Thursday, PAGASA reported.
The weather bureau also continues to monitor the Typhoon Khanun (formerly Falcon), which is outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), was located 715 kilometers north northeast of Itbayat, Batanes packing maximum sustained winds of 155 kilometers per hour near the center, gustiness of up to 190 km/h and moving west northwestward at a speed of 10km/h.
Ilocos Region, Zambales, and Bataan will have occasional rains due to the southwest monsoon. Flooding or landslides may occur in these areas due to moderate to heavy rains.
Metro Manila, Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, and the rest of Central Luzon will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms also due to the southwest monsoon with the possibility that flash floods or landslides occurring due to moderate to at times heavy rains.
The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the southwest monsoon and localized thunderstorms. Flash floods or landslides may occur during severe thunderstorms.
The wind speed for Luzon is strong moving southwestward with rough coastal waters.
In the Visayas, the wind speed forecast is moderate to strong moving in the southwest direction while coastal waters will be moderate to rough.
Mindanao will experience light to moderate wind speed moving in the south to southwest direction with light to moderate coastal waters.
