The Trough of the Low Pressure Area (LPA), which was estimated at 570 kilometers East of Aparri, Cagayan, and the southwest monsoon or habagat will be affecting Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao on Wednesday, PAGASA reported.
The weather bureau is also monitoring the active tropical cyclone outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).
As of 3 a.m., the Tropical Depression was located 3,170 kilometers east of Northern Luzon packing maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour near the center with gustiness up to 55bkm/h and moving southwestward at 10 km/h.
Cagayan Valley and the Cordillera Administrative Region will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the trough of the LPA and where flooding or landslides may occur due to moderate with at times heavy rains.
Visayas, Mindanao, Bicol Region, MIMAROPA, Zambales, Bataan, and Quezon will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the southwest monsoon with the possibility that flooding or landslides occurring due to moderate with at times heavy rains.
Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the southwest monsoon and localized thunderstorms. The bureau also reported that flash floods or landslides may occur during severe thunderstorms.
The western section of Luzon will experience light to moderate wind speed moving in the southwest to south direction while coastal waters will be slight to moderate.
The rest of the country will experience light to moderate wind speed moving in the southwest to west direction with slight to moderate coastal waters.
