The Southwest Monsoon or Habagat will be affecting Central Luzon, southern Luzon, and the western section of Visayas, PAGASA said on Monday.
According to the weather bureau’s 4 p.m. forecast, Metro Manila, the Ilocos Region, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, the Bicol Region, and Western Visayas will experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the Habagat.
Affected residents were advised to prepare for possible flash floods or landslides during moderate to at times heavy rains.
Meanwhile, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms will prevail over the rest of the country also due to the Habagat.
Flash floods or landslides may occur during severe thunderstorms, PAGASA said.
The wind speed forecast for the whole archipelago will be slight to moderate with slight to moderate coastal water conditions, ranging from 0.6 meters to 2.5 meters.
The sun will rise over Metro Manila at 5:45 a.m. on Tuesday. — Mel Matthew Doctor/BM, GMA News
