Mayor JR Coro was invited to share his experience in governing with a Climate Change adaptation perspective leading to the access of the People’s Survival Fund for the Siargao Climate Field School for Farmers and Fisherfolks.
Mayor Coro talked about the value of transforming scientific data into layman terms for the frontliners of food security, about the need for various stakeholders to work together to educate everyone, and how our environmental campaign saved us from Super Typhoon Odette.
Mayor Jr called upon everyone to develop more Climate Field Schools as climate issues are local to establish a more localized response. Collective action however will qualify a stronger frontline response to climate change.
